Born in London and raised in Croydon she started as a chorister; at the age of 12, she had the opportunity to play the tuba, where she found her natural musical home, later taking up the bass trombone. Now also a conductor, arranger, and copiest Paula is passionate about community music making.
A regular with the Croydon Symphonic Band, the London Gay Symphony Orchestra, the Women Of the World Orchestra, and many others. She has played as a professional and amateur in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Spain and the Channel Islands, as well as some of the most prestigious concert halls in the UK.
The Director of Music for the Allegra Concert Band she has developed the band to be a leading lights of amateur music making in the South East. Since 2010 Paula has been the Conductor of the Croydon Brass Band and she led their Centenary Series of Concerts.
