Prathap Ramachandra an Internationally acclaim South Indian Percussionist
Prathap specialises in playing Mridangam, Ghatam, Khanjira and also rendering Konnakool (rendering percussion syllables orally). He started his career as a performer at a very young age.
Over the last few decades in the British music seen his musical journey consists of accompaniment to some of the world-renowned artist from India and abroad, his cross-cultural collaborations in music and dance have allowed him to craft interesting approach to Indian rhythms.
His unique approach to percussion ideas has lead to the creations of his own
band “Rhythm Yatra” which can be translated as “Journey of Rhythms” shows a flamboyant side of Indian Classical Music.
Prathap has taken his sounds to some of the biggest stages in the world and has performed in some of the biggest festivals around the globe.
