"Zoo Co are an award winning Croydon based arts organisation who create high quality, accessible theatre and creative engagement for young people across the borough, UK and internationally. In 6 years, they have created 7 touring shows to over 50 venues, engaged with over 1000 people through repeat engagement sessions and managed a pop up theatre shop in Croydon's Whitgift Centre.
Although long established, Zoo Co represents young artists aged 20-30, providing tangible career role models for young people wishing to pursue creative or backstage careers. Having attended the same state school as teens, Zoo Co actively champions the value of strong arts education for students, reflecting on the empowering and relevant education they experienced through a very strong drama department and external practitioners visiting their school.
Accessibility is at the core of Zoo Co's work and they are driven to breaking down the barriers to theatre that people may face. Every performance is relaxed, the core team is trained in British Sign Language and subsidised tickets are available at almost every show. Zoo Co believe theatre is better when everyone has a seat at the table."
